Jeff Tackett Goalkeeper director

Jeff Tackett heads up our Goalkeeping Department and is our Director of Goalkeeping for all our Legends FC regions. Jeff has over 25 years of coaching experience at all levels of coaching: From youth clubs and high schools all the way through college and profession teams. Along that path, Jeff has coached 100s of soccer players that he has helped develop into college players, professional players, national players and world cup players. In addition to serving as the GK Director at Legends FC, Jeff helps with US Club Soccer id2, SoCal PDP, a member of United Goalkeeper Alliance (UGKA), and various ID camps across the nation. Jeff holds his USSF License, NSCAA National Goalkeeping Diploma, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma, AAF/CIF National Diploma, UEFA “B” GK license, USC Video Analysis Diplomas (Levels I, II, III), and a California Teaching Credential. He came back to Legends FC from ESC and SRU where he was the Director of Coaching and GK Director. Other former positions include Director of coaching at Eagles SC and United SC, Head Coach & Assistant coach at Anaheim Bolts and Ontario Fury Professional Indoor teams, Assistant Coach/GK coach at Cal Poly Pomona, University of La Verne, & California Baptist University, Head Coach/Assistant coach at various varsity soccer program in high school and ODP staff coach/GK coach for regional and state Olympic Development Programs. Jeff Studied at California Baptist University where he earned a BS in Kinesiology and University of San Diego where he received his California Teaching Credential in Adults with Disabilities, Vocational, & Supervisor credential. Additionally, he is the founder and owner of Southern California School of Goalkeeping.

Topics: Communication in all GK Situations, Set plays/walls/restarts, Dealing with Crossing Scenarios, Understanding Back pass options and scenarios, Dealing with 1v1/Breakaways in tactical scenarios, Game film review – How to break it down and learn from it, Game film review – How to help the team needs from a GK perspective, Learning the game in all thirds of the field from a GK perspective

2v2 Keeper Wars

Strength and Conditioning training involves a wide range of exercises developed to build a variety of skills with a focus on mind, mobility, stability, strength, endurance, power, speed, agility, and performance.

  • 4 games minimum / 7 games max

  • Game length: 5 minute games ( 2 min halves)

  • Awards for the finalist

Thanksgiving Camp

Several topics will be taught (3-6 topics per camp), Professional staff / college coaches on staff, Technical and tactical sessions, Classroom sessions, SAQ sessions
